    Description:5G represents a shift from cell-centric to user-centric networks. However, some of the techniques that will deliver this in the macro network, such as massive MIMO antennas and millimeter-wave bands are less practical indoors due to antenna size, power constraints and architectural obstructions. Indoor small cells will need to use alternative techniques. At the same time, small cells will need to embrace 5G fundamentals like centralized baseband processing (C-RAN), Ethernet fronthaul and virtualization. This session will explore how LTE C-RAN small cell architectures will evolve toward 5G, and the benefits they will bring to network performance and user experience.
