Joseph Depa

Joseph Depa is a corporate communications manager for CommScope, a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks. Joseph is responsible for the company’s media and analysts relations for the broadband industry. He also manages the company’s social media activities. Joseph has almost 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, publishing and journalism. Prior to his role at CommScope, Joseph served as the public relations manager for JC Thomas Marketing Communications, Inc in Charlotte, NC. In that position, he handled public and media relations for clients within the dental, healthcare, restaurant, non-profit and textile industries. He was also the managing editor for Glow Worm, a division of Saatchi and Saatchi Healthcare in New York, NY and managing editor for Ascend Media (formerly Medical World Communications) in Jamesburg, NJ. During his time at Ascend, one of his magazines—Contemporary Dental Assisting—received the 2006 Medical Marketing & Media Healthcare Business Publication of the Year Award. Joseph spent almost five years as a newspaper reporter working for Gannett Newspapers in Toms River, NJ (Ocean County Observer) and NJN Publishing in Somerville, NJ (The Chronicle). While working for the Ocean County Observer in 2000, Joseph took First Place in the Breaking News category from the New Jersey Press Association. While working for The Chronicle in 1998, he received the Robert P. Kelly Award from the New Jersey Press Association. He also received a Third-place Award from the Society of Professional Journalists (NJ Chapter) for Review Writing in the weekly newspaper category. Joseph received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Bill Walter

Corporate Communications Manager

Bill Walter is a corporate communications manager for CommScope, responsible for advancing CommScope’s conversation with the wireless industry. Bill drafts press releases, engages with trade media and analysts, and helps CommScope’s RF experts write about the subjects they love in the company’s blog. Prior to this role, Bill served as a communications specialist for CommScope, taking on increasingly greater writing, editing and media relations responsibilities. Bill began his communications career in 2004 with Andrew Corporation as an employee communications writer, primarily contributing to and managing company newsletters. Bill’s first real post-college job was with Andrew Corporation in the sales and customer support department. Bill earned a master of arts degree in counseling from Loyola University Chicago in 2012. He feels this degree helps him understand and appreciate the nuance and complexity of interpersonal communication. He has a bachelor of arts from Marquette University.
