March 14, 2005 BEIJING

SYSTIMAX® Solutions, the worldwide leader in structured connectivity solutions and services for businesses, Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA), Shanghai Hua Yu and China National Precision Machinery Import & Export Corporation, today jointly signed an expansion project for the T3 Terminal development at BCIA.

The project includes indoor cabling for three separate buildings, T3A, T3B and GTC, as well as outdoor connections between these buildings. Category 6 UTP cabling will be used for connections to the desk, and fiber capable of supporting 10 Gigabit Ethernet will be used in the network backbone. In total, the cabling infrastructure is expected to have 47,000 information outlets, including 2100 horizontal fiber outlets, all connected via 106 wiring closets.

The high-performance SYSTIMAX product portfolio is expected to satisfy the structured connectivity requirements that have been specified for the future BCIA T3 Terminal. The specified solutions include Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) SYSTIMAX GigaSPEED® XL UTP copper, LSZH SYSTIMAX LazrSPEED® 10 Gb/s multimode fiber and LSZH SYSTIMAX OptiSPEED® singlemode fiber cabling.

“We believe the SYSTIMAX portfolio can meet the structured connectivity needs of large and complex projects anywhere in the world,” said Randy Crenshaw, Executive Vice President and General Manager, CommScope Enterprise. “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to cable this major extension project in one of Asia’s biggest airports.”
