Meteor Deploys Andrew's Omnix Asset Management Software

January 10, 2006 BRISTOL, England

Andrew Corporation, a global leader in communications systems and products, has successfully deployed its Omnix(TM) Asset Management software with Irish mobile operator Meteor.

Omnix Asset Management was developed specifically for the mobile communications industry to help network operators track and manage their considerable number of high-value, widely distributed assets at hundreds or thousands of separate cell sites. Omnix enables network operators to tightly couple network operations and maintenance with asset management to provide better control and visibility of network assets.

Omnix offers a complete asset lifecycle management capability that includes bill of materials fulfillment, asset and parts location, reconciliation, stock reservation, inventory management, warehouse picking, and relocation. Omnix Asset Management also includes a comprehensive asset depreciation and valuation function, auditing, asset tracking, and Sarbanes-Oxley reporting. By supporting remote personal digital assistant, radio frequency identification, and barcode technologies, Omnix provides an industry leading solution for asset management and tracking, enabling a highly mobile and efficient workforce.

"Meteor is very pleased with the performance of Omnix Asset Management," said Brian Russell, site development manager, Meteor. "Omnix provides a full integration of processes across many of our business functions, including property management, fixed asset management, enterprise resource planning, financials, and rollout management as well as wireless inventory management. This system integration is key to improving efficiency, costs, and administrative functions within Meteor."

Omnix integrates many otherwise disparate business systems in a way that provides consolidated views of key business indicators to specific staff such as project managers; asset, finance and network operations managers; site construction workers; and auditors. When the Asset Management solution pack is used together with the Omnix Site Rollout and Upgrade option, the combined package delivers a powerful suite of management functions unparalleled by other infrastructure or workflow management systems.

"Mobile operators are increasingly concerned about managing network assets and have to account for the location and value of each asset as part of their financial reporting," said Martin Coates, vice president, Andrew Network Solutions EMEA. "Omnix makes this a much easier task for everyone involved."

Andrew Network Solutions, one of Andrew's five product groups, supports the entire network lifecycle with wireless network design, optimization, management, and location solutions for customers.
