CommScope Names Alan Walp Vice President of Wireless Marketing and Sales For Europe, Middle East and Africa
HICKORY, N.C., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CommScope today announced that Mr. Alan Walp has been named Vice President of Wireless Marketing and Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa. In his new position, Mr. Walp will have sales and marketing responsibilities for CommScope's wireless business in those regions.

"Alan brings substantial international wireless sales experience to CommScope," said Ted Hally, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CommScope's Wireless Products Group. "His business development and account management skills will be extremely valuable to us as we continue the global expansion of our wireless business."

Mr. Walp will be based in the United Kingdom where he currently lives. Prior to joining CommScope, he was Director of Business Development for Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), a division of Alcatel, and served as the company's Global Key Account Manager for Ericsson and Nokia as well as European Key Account Manager for Hutchison. From 1991-2001, he held various sales and marketing leadership positions for Cambridge Broadband, Comtech EF Data Corporation and Andrew Corporation. Prior to that time, he was a Director/Partner with the Crown Company, and he began his civilian career as a radar systems engineer for the Hughes Aircraft Company. A native of the United States, Mr. Walp served in the U.S. Navy from 1975-81, where he received his initial training and experience in radar systems operation.
