RET System
•
A basic RET system includes a controller, actuators attached to antennas, and control cable.
•
Multiple actuators can be joined together by daisy-chaining control cables or by using a junction box.
•
Electrical tilt adjustments can be made remotely from the BTS using a portable or rack mount controller or over a network using a rack mount controller.

RET System Using Smart Bias Tees
•
Reduces the number of cable runs leading up a tower by injecting the AISG control signal onto an existing RF coaxial line using a smart bias tee.
•
Smart bias tee is used at the bottom of the tower and either a smart bias tee or an AISG tower mounted amplifier (TMA) is used at the top of the tower to restore the control signal back onto a control cable feeding to the actuator attached to an antenna.

RET System Using dc 2.1 Bias Tees
•
By using the SMB ports on the ATC300-1000 Teletilt® controller, a dc 2.1 bias tee can be used at the bottom of the tower in place of a smart bias tee.
•
With an SMB to SMA coaxial cable connected to the SMB port of the controller at one end and to a dc 2.1 bias tee at the other end, the AISG control signal is injected onto the RF coaxial line leading up the tower.
•
Either a smart bias tee or an AISG tower mounted amplifier (TMA) is used at the top of the tower to split the control signal out to the control cables feeding into the actuators.
