Brief History:
Based in Hickory, North Carolina since being founded in 1976, CommScope spun
off from General Instrument in 1997 and became a publicly traded
company on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CTV.
In January 2004, we acquired Avaya's Connectivity Solutions
business and essentially doubled our size by adding approximately
1,900 people to our employee base, the business’ divisional headquarters/SYSTIMAX
Labs in Richardson, Texas, and three manufacturing facilities located
in Omaha, Nebraska, Bray, Ireland and Brisbane, Australia.
In
December 2007, CommScope completed the acquisition of Andrew Corporation
and formed Andrew Wireless Solutions by CommScope. CommScope
added nearly 11,000 employees for a total of 15,000 employees worldwide.
Andrew Wireless Solutions included a range of products found
in the Last Mile of the network including antennas, cable and connectors,
amplifiers, repeaters, transceivers as well as site monitoring software
and field training.

Broadband:
CommScope is the world’s largest manufacturer of coaxial cable for cable TV and other video applications. Our coaxial and fiber optic cables are primarily used in Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) networks being deployed throughout the world. HFC networks are widely recognized as one of the most cost-effective ways to offer multi-channel video, voice and data services. Our broadband coaxial cables and zero water peak optical fiber cables provide bandwidth connectivity for services such as cable television, video on demand, high-speed Internet access, cable telephony and other interactive services.
Antenna, Cable and Cabinet Group A global leader for wireless network
