The SYSTIMAX® LazrSPEED® Solution offers a cost-effective, low risk route to reliable LAN communications in the Gb/s range.
An end-to-end multimode fiber solution, it enables cost-effective migration from 10Mb/s to 10Gb/s in premises networks
It can unleash the full potential of your GigaSPEED® XL UTP or PowerSUM UTP cabling network at a surprisingly low cost
And, with the ratification of the IEEE standard for 10 Gb/s (IEEE 802.3ae) and the standards for laser optimized multimode fiber (TIA), network users can now confidently deploy 10Gb/s Ethernet in their corporate backbones.
Our SYSTIMAX LazrSPEED Solution boosts performance to a blistering 10 Gb/s while reducing total system costs by eliminating expensive opto-electronics previously needed to achieve 10 Gb/s speeds on multimode fiber. The SYSTIMAX LazrSPEED technology is the world's first multimode fiber optic solution to support 10 Gb/s serial transmission at 850 nanometers at distances of over 300 meters -- more than enough to connect in-building backbones.
Laser-optimized multimode fiber optics provide an ideal pathway for photon travel. The additional bandwidth and geometry of these fibers eliminates the need for expensive, high-precision lasers, combiners, splitters, and filters. LazrSPEED fibers can transmit at 10 Gb/s using only a single VCSEL (vertical cavity surface-emitting laser) transceiver. The result has been shown to reduce total cost of ownership up to 30 - 40 percent over conventional CWDM (coarse wavelength division multiplexing) systems requiring more elaborate opto-electronics.
To further reduce total cost of ownership, the LazrSPEED Solution is backward compatible with legacy LAN applications. Its standards compliant 50-micron core diameter allows you to continue running your existing Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, SONET, and Token Ring applications. LazrSPEED fiber also enables dual speed 1 Gb/s or 10 Gb/s ports, which allows disruption-free upgrading of your Ethernet networks to the new higher-speed 10 Gb/s standards.
SYSTIMAX® TeraSPEED - a Zero Water Peak Singlemode (ZWP-SM) Fiber, designed to cost-effectively future-proof enterprise campus and metro backbones for next generation equipment.
TeraSPEED ZWP-SM fiber is designed to operate over the entire wavelength range from 1280nm to 1625 nm - removing the water peaks (high attenuation) in the 1400 nm window -increasing the useable wavelength range over conventional singlemode fiber by more than 50%.
TeraSPEED delivers a cost-effective upgrade path allowing up to 16 channels of CWDM (Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing), the lowest-cost option to pack more channels on a single fiber, and up to 400 channels of DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing).
With bandwidth requirements continuing to grow at exponential rates, the TeraSPEED Solution is ready to support enterprise campus and metro backbone migrations to higher speeds and multiple wavelengths.
In addition, this full spectrum fiber provides customers with future proofing options: if optical electronics move to higher serial speeds or shift to an increased number of wavelengths, TeraSPEED provides complete support for both. TeraSPEED fibrer cables are ITU-T G.652.C compliant and support legacy transport equipment and applications.
The TeraSPEED ZWP-SM Solution follows the success of the SYSTIMAX LazrSPEED® Solution, that overcame the limitations of conventional multimode fiber to offer guaranteed support for the lowest-cost 10 Gb/s option up to 300m for the enterprise building backbones. By overcoming the limitations of conventional singlemode fiber, the TeraSPEED ZWP-SM fiber Solution once again demonstrates that SYSTIMAX Solutions is committed to delivering optimal media solutions for lowest-cost future-proofing.

Lowest multimode fiber channel loss available, up to 50% less than other systems
Lowest loss small form factor connector available in the industry - LC Connector
The SYSTIMAX® OptiSPEED® Solution was developed to provide fiber optic connectivity for network backbones that is optimised for legacy applications. 62.5 micron multimode fiber provides high-speed links to support low-cost signal transmission up to the TIA standard of 300 meters within a building and up to 2000 meters within a campus for many of today's legacy LAN.
The OptiSPEED channel, which includes the low-loss LC connector, supports the 1000BASE-SX, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, up to 300 meters with up to 6 LC connections. This is the lowest loss channel in the industry that simultaneously supports a longer distance than specified by the standard. OptiSPEED supports up to 600 meter for 1000BASE-LX Gigabit Ethernet LAN applications. The OptiSPEED solution also supports 10 Gbps Ethernet using four CWDM lasers to 300 meters.
In addition to LC connectors, the OptiSPEED solution also includes the duplex SC connector and the ST II+ connector. Supportable distances may be diminished with these connector types relative to that with the LC connector. The LC is a Small Form Factor connector that allows two LC connectors to fit in the space of a traditional connector such as the SC or ST II+. The solution offers an extensive line of wall and rack mounted patch panels and telecommunication outlets for building entrance facilities, equipment rooms, telephone closets/floor distributors and work areas.
SYSTIMAX® Solutions channels comprised exclusively of OptiSPEED passive products, end-to-end, are capable of delivering up to 10 Gigabit per second in accordance with application standards.
All CommScope Outside Plant (OSP) cables are designed and manufactured to provide outstanding mechanical and optical performance. This cable family uses a loose tube construction to provide multiple levels of protection for the fiber strands.
Our heavy-duty products are engineered to withstand the rigors of environmental extremes.
CommScope indoor/outdoor tight buffer cables are designed to meet the rigors of outside
plant while allowing for direct connectorization of the individual fibers, yet meet the National Electric Code/Canadian Electric Code (NEC/CEC) requirement of Optical Fiber Non-conductive Riser (OFNR).
CommScope indoor/outdoor loose tube cables are a unique design - they are made to withstand the typical rigors of the outside plant environment (the buffer tubes are filled with a compound that blocks moisture flow while protecting the fiber), yet are made of materials that permit them to meet OFNR and OFNP requirements.
Indoor/outdoor cables allow a cable to be run from outside a building to the inside without changing cable types, thus avoiding the extra time and labor of an additional splice point. Their riser or plenum listing makes this possible.
Another technical achievement in CommScope’s indoor/outdoor cables is the use of our ARID-CORE® dry water-blocking technology. Once exposed to moisture, ARID-CORE rapidly swells to form a gel that stops water penetration. The result is a craft-friendly cable that reduces termination time, effort and cost. We offer several constructions, which include:
Riser
Triathlon™ Low Smoke/Zero-Halogen(LSZH) Distribution cables of up to 72 tight buffered fibers. Cable also meets OFNR-LS listing requirements per UL-1685.
Triathlon Low Smoke/Zero-Halogen (LSZH)Cordagein simplex, zipcord and two-fiber interconnect tight buffered designs. Cable also meets OFNR-LS listing requirements per UL-1685.
Central Tubecables of up to 24 fibers in a robust dielectric design.
Stranded Loose Tubecables of up to 288 fibers in a dielectric construction. Also available in Heavy Duty version (LH).
Plenum
Stranded Loose Tube cables of up to 72 fibers in a dielectric construction. Cable also meets OFNP listing requirements per NFPA-262.
CommScope premises cables are engineered with three goals in mind - excellent mechanical and optical performance, coupled with superior fire safety ratings. These goals are achieved in a family of cables that meet all critical NEC/CEC requirements for riser or plenum applications while offering resistance to installation and termination stresses.
Our distribution cables are a perfect example of this achievement. Constructions are engineered to be up to 30% smaller in diameter and up to 50% lighter than comparable products. The result is a compact cable that installs and terminates easily
Premises fiber optic cables meet or exceed performance standards as established by Telcordia Telcordia GR-409, TIA/EIA 568B, ICEA 83-596, ANSI X3.166-1990 & X3T9.5 PMD, FDDI, ATM, Fibre Channel and HIPPI.
We offer several constructions, which include:
Riser and Plenum Distributioncables of up to 144 fibers in a lightweight and compact construction.
Low Smoke/Zero-Halogen Distributioncables of up to 72 fibers which can be used outdoor as well, thus eliminating the need to change cable types at the building entrance.
Riser and Plenum Cordagein simplex, zipcord and two-fiber interconnect.
CommScope’s Uniprise LightScope ZWP was the industry’s first full spectrum single-mode fiber. This solution allows network designers to take advantage of the previously unused “E” band. The Uniprise LightScope ZWP solution provide for future growth in bandwidth by enabling 18-channel course wave division multiplexing (CWDM) and transmission from 1265nm to 1625nm, adding 30% more usable spectrum. Uniprise LightScope ZWP solutions are fully compatible with legacy single-mode fiber optic networks.
CommScope’s four multimode solutions allow for cost-effective deployment of enterprise LAN infrastructures. Whether your network calls for 10Meg or 10Gig, our fiber optic solutions meet or exceed industry standards. Our LaserCore 10Gig solutions are backward compatible for legacy and existing applications.
CommScope takes a flexible approach with our fiber optic solutions. We guarantee channel distances based on the amount of combined connector and splice loss instead of relying on mere industry standard lengths. We can support longer distances with less combined connector and splice loss. This allows for flexibility in design and choice of our ST, SC, and LC connectors, all of which have excellent performance characteristics.
