SYSTIMAX GigaSPEED X10D solution helps make 10Gbps Ethernet possible

BARCELONA, SPAIN, January 26, 2009 — CommScope Enterprise Solutions, a division of CommScope, Inc. (NYSE:CTV), will present a 10 Gigabit Ethernet demonstration at Cisco Networkers 2009, January 26-29, in Barcelona, Spain. The demonstration utilizes SYSTIMAX® GigaSPEED® X10D Category 6A/E solutions and showcases CommScope’s ability to deliver 10Gbps speeds across 100 meters of high-performance unshielded twisted pair copper cabling configured in the worst case of alien crosstalk.

The CommScope demonstration also features a data center network using Solarflare’s 10GBASE-T vNIC and a Cisco Catalyst 4900M switch delivering line-rate speeds across virtual servers running VMware™ ESX and iSCSI storage appliances. Together, the solutions illustrate a converged LAN/SAN 10GBASE-T networking infrastructure running applications in a VMware virtualized server setting. With high-performance physical layer solutions, users have a single, unified virtualized server network that enables heavy traffic loads, storage, video and standard application networking without impacting network performance.

The SYSTIMAX GigaSPEED X10D solution is specifically engineered with enhanced cable and connector performance designed to support emerging Ethernet requirements. It complies with the ratified IEEE 802.3an 10GBASE-T standard and fully complies with Class E channel and Category 6A channel specifications. With CommScope’s network infrastructure solutions at the core of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet demonstration, enterprises can better visualize server virtualization, iSCSI and network convergence at its highest efficiency.
