CommScope, Inc. (NYSE:CTV), a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks, today announced the launch of its CommScope Category 5e MFP120 Foiled Twisted Pair (FTP) Information Outlet. The new MFP120 is a shielded 8-pin (8 connectives) modular information outlet with insulation displacement cable (IDC) terminations which provides easy installation for 22 and 24 American Wire Gauge (AWG) cable. In addition, high-tooth pair splitters have been enhanced to separate tightly twisted cable pairs that maintain the upward twist to the connections.

The MFP120, designed to support Category 5e cabling, meets component specifications for 100 MHz while supporting high bandwidth applications including 1000BASE-T. It also utilizes the same proprietary cross-talk cancellation techniques for superior Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT) and Power Sum Near-End Crosstalk (PSNEXT). In addition, installation is simpler since the MFP120 snaps easily into standard M-Series faceplates, surface-mount boxes and consolidation point boxes, while multi-covered labels provide straight forward wire placement and identification of the wire terminals.
