Please read this Recruiting Data Protection Notice (the "Notice") carefully before providing information about yourself through this Site. If you do not agree to the terms of this Notice,please do not submit Personally Identifiable Information ("PII") or utilize this Site. This Notice applies to the web sites regarding or relating to our advertising or posting of positions of employment, recruiting activities, employment application, interview and selection,on-boarding and new hire process, whether accessed via computer, mobile device, or other technology, manner or means (each, a "Site" and collectively, the "Sites") that are offered by CommScope, Inc. of North Carolina and its subsidiaries and affiliates ("CommScope", "we" or"us").

PII that we collect about you

In addition to the PII requested in the on-line profile form, we also collect PII from you directly,such as via your resume (to the extent applicable). To the extent permitted by applicable law, we also may collect PII about you from people you have named as your references, from previous employers, and schools. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we will carry out credit,criminal record, previous employment and education background checks with reference agencies. This will involve disclosing the PII provided by you to such agencies or third parties that in turn will retain records of the checks.

Why we collect and use your PII and how we share your PII

You can be assured that all of your PII will be used and disclosed only for the legitimate business purposes of administering your recruitment and completing the on-boarding/new hire process, should you be offered and accept a position with CommScope, including:

  • Screening for candidacy, assessing qualification and tracking candidates during the application process;
  • Verification of credentials and prior employment history and performing background checks (where and to the extent permitted by applicable law); and
  • Compliance with statutory requirements, including record keeping and reporting for human rights, employment equity, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and similar screenings (where applicable).

Your PII will be processed and stored on the systems used by us in the United States and in other countries. Only authorized personnel worldwide, including human resources, legal, and appropriate managers, will have access to your PII for legitimate business purposes such as management and analysis of job applications. However, wherever PII may be stored, used,processed, accessed or disclosed, CommScope has taken appropriate steps to ensure that your PII is adequately protected in accordance with CommScope policies and applicable laws and regulations. In particular, where PII is transferred to countries that may not provide a level of protection to PII equivalent to that provided by your home country, CommScope has entered into certain data transfer contracts, including appropriate contractual clauses based on the EU Model Clauses where appropriate.

As necessary for the purposes described above, PII may be shared with one or more parties,whether affiliated or unaffiliated, to process PII under appropriate instructions (“Data Processors”). Such Data Processors may carry out instructions related to IT system support,compliance screening, background check, and other activities, and will be subject to contractual obligations to implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to safeguard the PII, and to process the PII only as instructed.

If you transfer to another company within the CommScope affiliates, you agree that we may send, at the request of your new employer, your personnel file (which contains PII about you) to your new employer, so that it may administer your new employment relationship. We will retain any PII (either original or copies) that is required for compliance with the statutory requirements or legitimate business purposes.

Additional information regarding the collection, use, processing, and transfer of PII for purposes of your employment relationship will be provide via separate policies and procedures if you are offered a position with CommScope.

Record Retention

CommScope will retain PII no longer than is necessary to carry out the purposes listed in this Notice and/or as required by applicable law, except as described below.

With your consent, in the event that you are not offered a position with CommScope or decline an offer from us, we will retain your PII for a period of up to three years for United States residents or one year for non-U.S. residents, on the above mentioned systems in order that we may inform you of other positions, which we believe may be suitable to you. PII retained for this purpose will be processed, used, disclosed and stored in accordance with the conditions of this Notice. If you do not want your PII retained for this purpose, you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us as described below.

How we secure your PII 

CommScope uses advanced technology and well-defined practices as required by applicable law to help ensure that your PII is protected from unauthorized access, use, misuse, modification,disclosure and destruction.
