SYSTIMAX Solutions, the worldwide leader in structured connectivity solutions for organizations, won the award for “Outstanding Innovation in Cabling” at the inaugural Network Middle East Innovation Awards that were announced Sunday 12th June.

"The award for outstanding innovation in cabling went to SYSTIMAX Solutions for being what we believe to be the first vendor to make a significant impact in the Middle East market with a 10 Gigabit Ethernet UTP solution,” said Simon Duddy, Editor, Network Middle East. “SYSTIMAX Solutions has won a succession of contracts with the GigaSPEED X10D Solution and has led the way in educating the Middle Eastern market on this new technology.”

The award was accepted by Matias Peluffo, Director, Global Technical Support and International Standardization, SYSTIMAX Solutions. “This award validates the SYSTIMAX Solutions approach to product development, which is to commit significant resources to our research and development efforts” he said. “The Innovation Award recognizes our company’s continuous efforts to push the boundaries of structured cabling performance.

“SYSTIMAX Solutions has a long history of innovation that stretches back to the inception of structured cabling, and it has been the first to market with nearly every UTP-based cabling breakthrough,” Peluffo continued. “The GigaSPEED X10D Solution continues this tradition and it is exciting to have our commitment to innovation recognized by one of the region’s most respected networking publications.”

The awards ceremony, which took place at Dubai’s Shangri-La Hotel, was held alongside the BICSI Middle East & Africa conference, and was attended by senior network and IT professionals from across the region.

SYSTIMAX Solutions launched its complete, end-to-end UTP cabling technology capable of supporting 10 Gb/s at the end of 2004. The company believes the GigaSPEED X10D Solution is the first complete solution that fully meets the latest IEEE 802.3an specifications for 10GBASE-T as well as the proposed TIA and ISO/IEC specifications for Category 6A/ New Class E.

Innovative features of the GigaSPEED X10D Solution include a new cable design based on a traditional round shape that has been developed using patent-pending technology. Coupled with this is new, patent-pending, connector technology that follows similar termination to those of the previous generations. The GigaSPEED X10D Solution is available as a complete solution that has published guaranteed channel performance up to a full 100 meter, four-connector channel and is backed by a 20-year Extended Warranty and Applications Assurance.
