SYSTIMAX® Solutions, a worldwide leader in structured connectivity
solutions and services for businesses, today announced that it has
received WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2™) Certification from the Wi-Fi
Alliance on the SYSTIMAX® AirSPEED™ Access Points.
Wireless products that are Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ for WPA2 are interoperable
and designed to have advanced encryption capabilities that meet
demanding enterprise security needs for Wireless Local Area Network
(WLAN) operations. In addition, WPA2 products use technology that is
based on the full IEEE 802.11i standard with government approved AES
The Wi-Fi Alliance has instituted a test suite that defines how member
products are tested to certify that they are interoperable with other
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED products. These tests are conducted at independent
laboratories. “This is a critical qualification within the wireless
industry,” noted Robert Yarbrough, SYSTIMAX AirSPEED Product Manager.
“Since our SYSTIMAX AirSPEED products are new to the WLAN market, this
should help us establish ourselves in the global marketplace and prove
our credibility to our customers.”
The SYSTIMAX AirSPEED Solution combines state-of-the-art,
enterprise-class access points with Signal Enhancing Antennas (SEA) and
rack-mounted Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices to enable mobility,
productivity, and network security in the workplace. It represents the
next logical step to extend SYSTIMAX Solutions for the enterprise by
providing a holistic approach to enterprise connectivity, including
copper, fiber and wireless solutions. The SYSTIMAX SCS approach provides
the structured connectivity installer with the solution and tools to
install and certify the air interface at the same time as the structured
cabling, resulting in a more cost effective installation that protects
their overall connectivity investment.
