Carl Edwards and Daniel Suárez are in Darlington, South Carolina for this season’s only stop originalat the legendary 1.33-mile egg-shaped oval. Dubbed ‘The Lady in Black,’ Darlington Raceway has been a destination for success for ARRIS Racing, with Daniel finishing third in his rookie debut last year, and Carl returning this week to defend his victory at last year’s Sprint Cup Series race. Daniel starts things off on Saturday in the XFINITY Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200. Carl will race on Sunday in the Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500. Both will be behind the wheel of the #19 ARRIS Toyota Camry, but Carl’s car will wear a historic throwback paint scheme as an homage to former JGR teammate Tony Stewart. Carl Edwards: ”Darlington is one of the most fun races of the year. It's a historic event and with the throwback paint schemes and everything, I'm really looking forward to this weekend. It's going to be a blast. We won the race last year. It was one of the biggest wins of my career. Our Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas have been really fast. We've been working well together as a team. We've got a special paint scheme to honor Tony Stewart's first paint scheme that he had at JGR. Here it is his last season so that'll be cool. We've got ARRIS on board. The Stanzione family has done so much for our team through ARRIS. They're from that area so hopefully we can get them another win. We'll just go have a good time. We've got two races before the Chase to get a couple more bonus points and hopefully a couple trophies.” Daniel Suárez: “Darlington is one of my favorite race tracks we visit each year and also one of the most fun and challenging to drive. The track is so different from any that we visit; it really makes it exciting for us as drivers as well as the fans. The whole weekend is really cool and I’m excited to be part of it. We had a really strong run there last year in our ARRIS Camry, so hopefully we can duplicate that effort this year. We’ve had a really good year so far, and as the regular season comes to a close I’m really looking forward to the Chase coming up in a few weeks.” Bring home another one, Carl and Daniel!
