IBC2018 is well underway, and an important topic for European service providers is compliance to CPE energy efficiency requirements as mandated by European Commission regulations 1275/2008 and any applicable amendments and the DVB-S2/T2 harmonized standards EN 303 372-2 and EN 303 340.

Sky Italia and ARRIS have a long-standing relationship delivering high-end satellite entertainment to consumers across Italy. When Sky Italia needed a set-top solution that could offer subscribers a new range of high-quality entertainment services and conserve bandwidth, they turned to us. We’re now upgrading Sky Italia’s set-tops to sleek, hybrid models that will meet all three regulations while adding HEVC decoding and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

The ARRIS DVB-S2 satellite and DVB-T2 digital terrestrial set-tops will keep the familiar user experience that Sky Italia subscribers have come to enjoy and pave a scalable path to future services, while also enabling significant bandwidth and OPEX savings for services like video-on-demand.

Drop by the ARRIS booth at IBC (Hall 1, Stand B19) to find out more about these solutions.
