The International Standards Organization (ISO) and International Electrochemical Committee (IEC) collectively work toward establishing standards for cabling. While distinct organizations, they are commonly referred to as ISO/IEC when operating as a joint technical committee.
CommScope plays an active role in the ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee (JTC) 1/Subcommittee 25, Interconnection of Information Technology Equipment, one of several subcommittees governed by ISO/IEC. JTC 1 develops worldwide Information and Communication Technology (ICT) standards for business and consumer applications as well as provides the standards approval environment for integrating ICT technologies.
Within the JTC 1/Subc ommittee 25 are three working groups, which independently develop related industry standards. CommScope actively participates in Working Group (WG) 3: Customer Premise Cabling. WG3 focuses on the standardization of characteristics of cabling systems for customer premises, including test procedures and planning and installation guides.
