Entel PCS Chooses Andrew and Raylex for Cellular Network Expansion in Chile

Andrew, the CommScope, Inc. division that is a global leader in wireless communication systems and products, and its representative in Chile, Raylex, signed a broad cooperation agreement with Entel PCS, one of the mobile telephony leaders in Chile, for Andrews role in the expansion of the Entel PCS network in that country.

The project will expand Entel PCSs cellular telephony network to improve coverage and serve a growing number of users in Chile. The Chilean mobile telephony market is one of the most developed in Latin America, with an average of nearly one phone per inhabitant.

Under the multi-year agreement between the companies, Andrew is designated a principal suppliervia its Chilean representative Raylexof wireless equipment for deployment in Entel PCSs network, including antennas, coaxial cables, software tools, and repeater solutions for indoor and outdoor use. Andrew and Raylex also will train Entel PCS engineers in Chile and abroad.

This agreement represents a step forward in the development of the telecommunications market in Chile and reaffirms the success of the companies collaboration, according to Sylvio Peres, Andrews vice president of Sales for Latin America. Andrew and its local partner Raylex are proud to continue and expand their support of Entel PCSs efforts in the growing and important Chilean market, Peres said.
