Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)

tia-heroThe Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) represents the interests of the global information andcommunications technology (ICT) industry. Industry members include companies involved in telecommunications, broadband, mobile wireless, information technology, networks, cable, satellite, unified communications, and emergency communications. It is accredited by ANSI and is primarily used by the North American market.

This association develops industry standards, drafts policy initiatives, and conducts market intelligence.

Within TIA, CommScope actively participates in Engineering Committee TR-42. This committee develops telecommunications standards for copper and optical fiber cabling components in user-owned buildings, addressing cabling topologies, outlet configurations and systems design, among other related interests.

TIA TR-42 serves as an umbrella group for multiple task forces and works toward accommodating evolving technologies affecting the interests of its members.
