FLX-ODN-FDC

FLX™ ODN non-hardened terminals are designed for FTTX and enterprise customer connectivity using advanced connectorized technology. This eliminates field splicing for faster deployment, improves time to market, and simplifies planning and O&M activities. The solution is flexible, modular, and scalable. It uses 12-fiber MPO pre-terminated tails and internal cables for easy, fast deployment without splicing, using standard connectors. CommScope provides ADSS and Figure-8 cables with G.652 or G.657 fibers for distribution network builds. It connects primary and secondary splitter locations using standard SC/PC or SC/APC connectors.

The FLX™ ODN Fiber Distribution Cabinet (FDC) is a primary splitter (S1) enclosure that can house multiple S1s. It connects OLT with the rest of ODN through the primary S1 splitter. The FDC also facilitates trunk cable splicing and storage of loose fiber for deeper FTTH network penetration. The primary Splitter S1 is a PLC Tube type splitter with its output terminated in a standard 12F MPO. The S1 is available in 1:8 or 2:8 splitter ratio. The splitter output of 8 fibers is augmented with 4 extra fibers. This allows coexistence of various network applications and expansion into service areas. This uses the same ADSS or Fig 8 distribution cable tail, saving multiple distribution cable runs on the same path. Each FDC has 12 trays to handle primary splitters S1 and 4 extra fiber splicing individually. Each tray can handle 12 splices and 1 PLC splitter, and can be used for normal splicing applications. The FLX™ ODN FDC has a 12-port patch plate to terminate S1’s MPO connectors and facilitate network monitoring without affecting other live networks. The FLX™ ODN FDC supports up to 6 distribution cable runs in 6 directions using drop ports. It supports up to 1920 Home Pass from a single FLX™ ODN FDC. It supports cable diameters from 3 mm to 15 mm for input trunk cables and distribution cables. These enclosures are designed for indoor and outdoor installations with wall and pole mounting features.
