The New York Times reported that Cablevision agreed to be acquired by Altice Group. If the acquisition is approved, Altice would rank among the largest cable operators in the United States, with about 3.7 million video subscribers.
Multichannel News reported that ARRIS is deploying a DOCSIS 3.0-powered gateway (ARRIS TG1682), with Comcast as part of its new XB3 service. The gateway enables gigabit wireless speeds, IP video and integrated home automation and security capabilities.
