The PON Evo™ Software Defined Network (SDN) Management and Control platform is CommScope’s solution for remotely controlling OLTs, ONTs, and all CommScope Optical Line Termination (OLT) hardware components. The SDN Management and Control platform supports the onboarding and integration of third-party OLTs to provide maximum flexibility, OPEX reduction, and reduced operational complexity in multi-vendor environments.

The SDN Management and Control platform provides operational efficiency via such features as centralized Alarm Management, Reporting, Job Scheduling, Access Control, Zero-Touch Configuration (ZTC), and Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP). The platform includes a management-level Graphical User Interface (GUI). Virtualization and slicing capabilities are also available to support differentiated and innovative business models to provide comprehensive coverage across all pillars of the FCAPS framework.
Featuring modular and scalable package delivery, the SDN Management and Control platform is customizable to meet each client’s specific needs across diverse markets and business requirements. The platform’s architecture is based on software-defined networking (SDN), offering virtualized views of the network domain that it controls and manages, which can be exposed to other SDN controllers or applications through APIs.

SOLUTION ARCHITECTURE

The SDN Management and Control platform is composed of various applications and components, as illustrated below, which work together to deliver a comprehensive management experience. It simplifies and abstracts the Network Elements, providing numerous services and a complete set of tools that can be accessed by higher-level applications, such as OSS or external SDN applications. A GUI interface allows operators direct access to CommScope Evo, enabling user-friendly provisioning and monitoring of all managed resources.
