A hearty welcome to the Argus Technologies team! They have joined CommScope now that the acquisition is complete.
We certainly are glad to add their excellent technology, proven innovation and specialized solutions such as high capacity antennas for large venues. Argus, based near Sydney, has been a well-respected competitor in the wireless network antenna market since its founding in 1994. Now, we expect that their many strengths and talents will enable us at CommScope to broaden our antenna solutions portfolio, deepen our research and development capabilities, strengthen our global market presence and accelerate our overall growth in the wireless market.
Here is what John Bonello, Argus’ managing director, had to say about his company and the acquisition while at CommunicAsia in June, shortly after the acquisition agreement was announced.
This is an interesting—and promising—time for providers of antennas, and all other infrastructure, in the wireless market. The demand for bandwidth and growth in network traffic continues to drive investment into infrastructure. And the evolution to next generation technologies, whether 2G to 3G, or 3G to 4G, is creating new opportunities for deployment of innovative antenna technologies as part of an overall RF Path solution, such as the solutions provided by CommScope.
Bandwidth requirements also are driving growth—and needs for more innovative solutions—in the other markets we serve. That is one major reason behind another recent strategic acquisition we made, that of Montreal-based LiquidxStream, which became part of CommScope in June. LiquidxStream is helping us move more deeply and quickly into advanced solutions for the cable TV market.
Watch for more exciting developments in the antenna space from CommScope in the future. We, with Argus, already are hard at work!
