Contributing to AT&T’s Success in Diversity

Many of the world’s largest companies, like AT&T, can point to diversity as a key asset and a foundation for future success. Its Global Supplier Diversity organization has led the way in helping make the company among the world’s leading companies when it comes to identifying and doing business with diverse suppliers. In this blog posting, Rick Aspan explains how CommScope recently was awarded the AT&T 2013 Supplier Diversity Crystal Award.

Diversity AwardMany of the world’s largest companies can point to diversity as a key asset and a foundation for future success. Diversity obviously is represented in the workforce, but also is a focus for many companies in their all-important supply chains.

Network giant AT&T is one such company. Since 1968, the company’s Global Supplier Diversity organization has led the way in helping make AT&T among the world’s leading companies when it comes to identifying and doing business with diverse suppliers.

As part of that broad effort, certain AT&T suppliers are required to meet diversity goals through its Prime Supplier Program, which has been instrumental in helping prime suppliers increase the utilization of minority, women and disabled-veteran owned businesses in their supply chains.

CommScope is designated as an AT&T Prime Supplier, and we are extremely honored to have been one of a select group to win the AT&T 2013 Supplier Diversity Crystal Award, presented early this month at an awards ceremony. This award recognizes those who attained and/or exceeded 21.5 percent diversity utilization in 2013.

We believe the award is exemplary of our commitment to collaborating with our customers, suppliers and the local communities along side of AT&T. Notably, the award recognizes our performance in contributing to AT&T exceeding its diversity spending target for its Prime Supplier program.

Congratulations to all involved in this noteworthy performance and endeavor.
