Edge QAM—A Roadmap To Higher Bandwidth Services

As MSOs strive to provide customers with cutting-edge services, they are expanding their offerings by deploying state-of-the-art technology that supports their customers’ ever-increasing demand for new and higher bandwidth services. One way to accomplish this is by deploying a universal, wideband edge QAM solution, allowing MSOs to provide their consumers with advanced services today.

During the 2012 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo®, I gave a Center Stage presentation on how MSOs can use this universal platform to deliver QAM channels that can be individually configured as any service. Shane Eleniak

Shane Eleniak is the Vice President of Advanced Broadband Solutions. With more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Eleniak is responsible for leading CommScope’s Product Management and Engineering Development of Optical and Converged Access Solutions for the MSO Marketplace. Prior to joining CommScope, Shane was EVP of Marketing and Business Development for Alloptic where he guided product, sales and corporate strategy to deliver the industry’s first RFoG and DPoE solutions. While at Alloptic, Shane delivered solutions to over 50 MSO customers worldwide. Prior to Alloptic, Mr. Eleniak was Senior Vice President of Business Development for Corente, a privately held security and application management company, where he guided both product and corporate strategy. Mr. Eleniak was previously Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Corrigent Systems, the leader in packetized metro optical transport. He was responsible for creating Corrigent's marketing vision, developing their industry leading product strategy, managing worldwide customer and channel relationships and growing the company from conception to over $100M in revenue. Shane has previously held several key management positions in marketing, strategy, business development and engineering at such industry leaders as Centerpoint Broadband Technologies and Newbridge Networks/Alcatel-Canada. Mr. Eleniak holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (with distinction) from the University of Alberta
