Gearing Up For 4G World

The wireless industry descends on Chicago next week for 4G World. As always, we’re looking forward to seeing customers and industry experts at the show. Might there even be a prize in our future? If you’re in the Windy City, come visit us in booth #723 at 4G World.

The wireless industry descends on Chicago next week for 4G World. As always, we’re looking forward to seeing customers and industry experts at the show. Might there even be a prize in our future?

We learned Monday that CommScope’s Andrew Solutions has been named a finalist—out of more than 130 submissions—for the 2010 RCR Wireless Ecosystem Awards to be presented at the show. We are one of three companies left standing in the category of 4G Enabling Technology Innovations. Quite apropos, as we spend considerable time, talents and energy these days helping our customers evolve into new technologies, such as LTE and WiMAX. An award would be great, but—even though it sounds incredibly trite—we get a ton of satisfaction every day through the results we achieve for our customers transitioning to next generation wireless networks. We have a lot going on at 4G World.

First, Comsearch, a CommScope company, will continue its multi-year involvement with 4G World by joining a conference panel on best practices in addition to performing its typical spectrum management and frequency coordination duties. Comsearch engineers will coordinate wireless operations and remediate any interference issues among exhibitors, attendees, and local service providers before, during, and after 4G World for the fourth year in a row.

Chris Hardy

Meanwhile, Chris Hardy will join five others on the Best Practices and Operational Strategies in the Restricted and Unrestricted Bands panel October 18 at the co-located WCAI 16th Annual International Symposium to discuss the future of the 3.65 GHz band in the US, including the potential to reconcile the various approaches that have been proposed in the band.

Kevin Linehan

Andrew’s Kevin Linehan, vice president and chief technology officer, Base Station Antenna Systems, will join the 4G World- and the 4G Americas-hosted track October 20 entitled: “4G Technology Roadmap at 4G World.” He will present on Advancements in LTE: Smart Antennas and SON.
