Impatience Drives Data Centre Design in Europe

Consumers’ impatience is driving demand for broadband. Bryn Jones highlights why customers in Europe are re-evaluating their IT infrastructure and 3 big trends related to data centre design in 2017.

I remember watching people traipse across the city like zombies when Pokemon Go was launched in 2016. Eyes glued to their screens, Londoners couldn’t wait to catch the next candy, stardust and lucky eggs. The demand for mobile data was 50 times more than initially predicted, according to Data Centre Dynamics.

This phenomenon was yet another wakeup call for our customers and organisations across Europe. They need to get up to speed quickly, especially when appealing to younger age-groups, who impatiently demand the latest technology at their fingertips at all times.

To deliver these expectations, organisations are reviewing all aspects of their IT infrastructure, including on-premise, colocation and cloud solutions. Changes in architecture will have profound implications on data centre networking and design.
