The Beantown Review—A Wrap-up of The 2012 Cable Show

Watch our videos and see how CommScope was front and center demonstrating how we are a trusted advisor to MSOs—both large and small—on how to deploy the right solutions in their networks.

The 2012 Cable Show in Boston was truly was an amazing show. Technology was on display for everyone to see. It was also the place to see some of your favorite television personalities—even Lord Stanley’s Cup made an appearance (to the delight of this hockey fan).

The city of Boston was a fantastic host city (of course I’m biased because I lived there for five years). The exhibit hall of the Boston Convention Center was full of energy and excitement. All the big players were in attendance, and there were several topics being discussed on the show floor:
1. How to deploy technology that helps operators move quickly toward CCAP compliance and support their customers’ bandwidth demands
2. How to deploy intelligence that improves a network’s performance and efficiency
3. How to reduce the industry’s overall energy consumption

Once again, CommScope was front and center demonstrating how we can be a trusted advisor to MSOs—both large and small—on how to deploy the right solutions in their networks.

As always, CCAP was a major focus. CommScope’s award-winningUniversal Wideband Edge QAM

solution was getting a lot of attention on the show floor. With its high density, power and space-savings benefits, the Edge QAM solution is considered a strong solution for CCAP compliance.

Please watch the following brief videos for additional insights on above topics.

Finally, our own Ken Wood, vice president, RF Solutions, was inducted into the 2012 Class of Cable TV Pioneers. This is a tremendous honor for Ken, who got his start in the cable TV industry in the 1970s. In this video, Ken talks about the past, present and future of cable TV.
