Andrew Corporation has introduced the Decibel(R) dBMicro-VTree(R) three-sector antenna system, one of the industry's smallest cellular and PCS network solutions for sites where real estate is limited or antenna concealment desired.

The dBMicro-VTree features three independent cross polarization antennas in a single, slender unit with no visible cables that can be mounted on locations such as rooftops, monopoles, and billboards, ideal when zoning restrictions or space limitations prohibit larger, multiple antennas.

Andrew will display the new dBMicro-VTree at 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France, from February 14-17 at Hall 2, Stand G29, and at CTIA Wireless 2005 in New Orleans from March 14-16. The dBMicro-VTree is a key element of Andrew's dense urban network solution, also being presented at 3GSM.

The dBMicro-VTree's three antennas are concealed in a slender 6.5 inch (165.1 millimeter) radome for 1850-1990 MHz and 1920-2170 MHz and an 11 inch (279.4 millimeter) radome for 806-896 MHz and 902-940 MHz, providing complete 360 degree coverage versus the 180 degree coverage available from a single antenna. In addition, each of the antennas can be independently adjusted so that each sector can be optimized for elevation beam tilting.

"The dBMicro-VTree offers one of the industry's smallest designs for 360 degree coverage solutions in these frequency ranges," said Phillip Sorrells, director of base station antenna product line management, Andrew Corporation. "This is an ideal low-cost concealment solution for operators and original equipment manufacturers worldwide that blends in with its surroundings and overcomes site issues that restrict use of more traditional antennas."
