RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With installation and maintenance of structured
cabling systems in data
center environments rising significantly due to growth in storage
area network (SAN) applications and the increased need to maximize floor
and shelf space, CommScope has expanded its SYSTIMAX®
360 Ultra-high Density (UHD) Fiber Solution to incorporate multiple
LC pass-through panels as well as splicing capabilities.
The new capabilities enable data center managers to utilize an existing
LC terminated infrastructure or even unterminated fiber cables to
achieve higher patch panel port densities than previously possible.
“Data centers are the single-most concentrated, complex and strategic
component of the IT environment,” said David Hall, manager, Data Center
Applications, CommScope Enterprise Solutions. “They are also one of the
few areas continuing to see robust growth due to server virtualization,
higher-density, energy efficiency and rapid deployment needs brought on
by the explosion of network information.
“With the new additions to our SYSTIMAX 360 UHD fiber solution, data
center operators, who are not currently deploying MPO pre-terminated
solutions, can still manage their physical layer architectures and
address rapidly increasing port densities”
While also supporting MPO pre-terminated solutions, the offering has
been expanded to support factory- and field-termination preferences
while utilizing the network infrastructure’s existing LC connectivity
backbone to improve flexibility for SAN connectivity applications. The
SYSTIMAX 360 UHD fiber solution now accommodates up to 144 LC
connections in a 1U space by either splicing on LC pigtails or using
existing LC terminated trunk cables, helping data center managers
optimize their IT environments for SAN applications.
Consistent with all CommScope solutions, the SYSTIMAX 360 UHD solution
is engineered and manufactured to work the first time, every time for
ease of implementation. CommScope backs its reliability by offering a
on all of its enterprise solutions, extending the life of data centers
and IT budgets.
