CommScope Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against BoreFlex Industries

September 23, 2010 HICKORY, N.C.

CommScope, Inc., a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks, has moved to protect its valuable intellectual property assets by bringing legal action against BoreFlex Industries of Mountain Grove, Missouri, for patent infringement.

The lawsuit, filed September 21 in the US District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, asserts that BoreFlex infringes US Patent No. 7,279,643, a CommScope patent that covers various improvements to toneable conduit with an embedded wire to carry a signal for detection by toning equipment.

“CommScope’s extensive portfolio of patents and intellectual property is a lifeblood of the company and core to the innovation we deliver to customers around the world,” said Ric Johnsen, senior vice president and general manager, Broadband Solutions, CommScope. “We will vigorously protect these valuable assets at all times.”

CommScope’s lawsuit seeks an injunction barring future sales of BoreFlex’s toneable conduit products and damages for past infringement.
