CommScope,
Inc., a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications
networks, will participate in the AfricaCom
2011 World Series by hosting several workshops designed to help
mobile operators discover new network solutions and revenue
opportunities.
CommScope will share its insights and expertise through its involvement
as Andrew Solutions in virtually all the world’s best mobile
communication networks, including those deployed in all 10 venues during
the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
The sessions will focus on four approaches to better manage network
coverage, capacity and costs:
-
Overcoming the coverage and capacity challenges associated with
technology overlays, site sharing and concealment
-
Reducing energy costs through more efficient power consumption and
renewable energy sources
-
Lowering operating expenses through intelligent monitoring and control
of cell sites
-
Finding new ways to manage coverage challenges in high-density and
in-building locations
“Africa is at a turning point and mobile technology will play a key role
in its social and economic development over the next decade,” said Vick
Mamlouk, vice president, Middle East and Africa Sales, CommScope. “Two
of the most significant objectives for African mobile operators are to
optimise network infrastructure and ensure smooth 4G deployments. We
have huge experience in both of these areas and we’re looking forward to
supporting more operators and OEMs at AfricaCom 2011. We want to help
them discover how best to reduce running costs and deploy networks
better positioned to take advantage of the substantial mobile data
opportunity across Africa.”
AfricaCom will take place on the 9 - 10 November 2011 in Cape Town,
South Africa and is the largest communications conference and exhibition
in Africa, gathering together over 5,000 telecoms decision-makers.
The series of CommScope AfricaCom workshops will take place at stand
MR19. To register, please visit: http://www.commscope.com/events/AfricaCom
