Comsearch Again Named Official Spectrum Manager For WiMAX World

September 25, 2008 HICKORY, N.C.

Trendsmedia, the events and publishing division of Yankee Group Research, Inc. and organizer of the WiMAX World 2008 Conference and Expo, has once again called on Comsearch, a CommScope company, to manage wireless spectrum, including frequency coordination and interference mitigation, for the hundreds of exhibitors at this years event, which will be held September 30 to October 2 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

This is the third consecutive year that Comsearch has been appointed official spectrum manager for WiMAX World, said Eliot Weinman, conference founder, co-chair and president of Trendsmedia. Given the number of exhibitors and live demonstrations, it is imperative that we ensure an effective wireless working environment for all attendees. We trust that Comsearch will provide that for us again.

Comsearch has been helping trade show organizers implement successful frequency coordination plans for their shows for more than 11 years. At WiMAX World 2008, Comsearch will provide services to help ensure that the radio frequencies used in demonstrations by exhibitors do not interfere with each other, or with other licensed frequencies in the area. Comsearch coordinates with area licensees, manages frequency use between exhibitors, conducts pre-show testing and monitors on-site signals for interference. This year's show promises the greatest challenges yet in terms of spectrum management with the largest amount of bandwidth requested by exhibitors in the show's history.

We are proud that WiMAX World has invited us again to manage wireless spectrum for its exhibitors, said Chris Hardy, vice president and general manager, Comsearch. Comsearch has grown to become the wireless industry's preferred vendor for frequency coordination and interference mitigation, a leadership role we take seriously, especially at important wireless industry events.

Comsearch has more than a quarter century of experience providing spectrum management and software and data solutions to the wireless markets. Solutions focus on key areas of spectrum management including strategic consultation, wireless engineering, frequency planning and administration, and monitoring and interference measurements. Its experienced engineers, software products, and information databases have addressed the specific challenges of network design and spectrum management for the evolving wireless industry.
