Comsearch Named Official Spectrum Manager For International CTIA WIRELESS 2010

March 10, 2010 HICKORY, N.C.

For the 13th year in a row, Comsearch, a CommScope company, will serve as official spectrum manager for the International CTIA WIRELESS 2010® trade show and conference, taking place March 23-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Comsearch will manage spectrum for exhibitor demonstrations and local wireless operators.

Comsearch will help ensure that the radio frequencies used in exhibitor demonstrations do not interfere with each other or with licensed wireless operators in the area. Comsearch will coordinate with area licensees, administer frequency use among exhibitors, conduct pre-show testing, and monitor on-site operation. With exhibitors desiring more spectrum for wireless services, particularly those expected to conduct live demonstrations of next generation network technologies like LTE and WiMAX, Comsearch’s unique spectrum sharing solutions will help to ensure the event’s success.

“We again asked Comsearch to handle spectrum management needs at International CTIA WIRELESS 2010 based on their consistently strong support in the past,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA. “Coordinating the high number of exhibitors, variety of demonstrations, and large amount of spectrum needed for the event is a challenging job that Comsearch does well.”

Comsearch has over 30 years of experience providing spectrum management, software, and data solutions to the wireless world. Solutions focus on key areas of spectrum management including strategic consultation, spectrum brokering and sharing, wireless engineering, frequency planning and administration, and monitoring and interference measurements. Its experienced engineers, software products, and information databases have addressed the specific challenges of network design and spectrum management for the evolving wireless industry. Comsearch recently launched a suite of iQ.link® Services aimed at reducing operators’ capital and operating expenditures and deployment time when rolling out microwave backhaul networks.

“International CTIA WIRELESS is easily a tradeshow with one of the most concentrated uses of wireless spectrum,” said Chris Hardy, vice president and general manager, Comsearch. “Comsearch has the experience and ability to manage almost all spectrum concerns efficiently, whether it is helping design microwave backhaul networks, moving incumbent frequency owners to new spectrum or managing heavy spectrum use at world-class industry events like International CTIA WIRELESS 2010.”
