solutions, announced that FES, a SYSTIMAX BusinessPartner, has been
chosen against tough competition to provide a SYSTIMAX Solutions
infrastructure for BBC Scotland’s new digital headquarters currently
being built at Pacific Quay, Glasgow, Scotland. The connectivity project
is due for completion in August this year.
The connectivity infrastructure will support the BBC’s future IT
strategy as well as their extensive bandwidth demands. The new Broadcast
Centre building is set for completion during 2006 and BBC Scotland staff
are due to move in the following summer after a year-long technical

The BBC chose to install SYSTIMAX Solutions’ award-winning SYSTIMAX
GigaSPEED® XL copper cabling solution. The GigaSPEED XL Solution was
developed by SYSTIMAX Labs and exceeds every applicable Category 6
cabling standard to provide customers with optimum network performance.
Coupled with this is a SYSTIMAX TeraSPEED™ fibre installation that
provides a full campus-wide backbone. Together, these solutions have
been employed to enable the BBC Pacific Quay site to cope with future
demands on its network.
The project was delivered by ANIXTER, the world’s leading distributor
