New CommScope Office Showcases End-to-End Wired and Wireless Solutions in China

CommScope Inc., a global leader in connectivity solutions for communication networks, has opened a new facility in Shanghai to showcase the latest technology used by enterprises and network operators in China for high performance communication infrastructure.

The new facility, located in the Caohejin Microelectronics Industrial Zone, brings together the people, resources and expertise of CommScope Enterprise Solutions, a world leader in enterprise network solutions, and CommScope’s Andrew Solutions, a global leader in radio frequency subsystem solutions for wireless networks, to better leverage the company’s broad portfolio of network infrastructure solutions for the benefit of its Chinese customers.

Enterprises and network operators in China will now be able to benefit from CommScope’s complete portfolio of solutions for wireless, enterprise and broadband applications, reflecting the evolution of the communication network marketplace towards integrated infrastructure solutions.

Andrew has long played a significant role in the Chinese market, currently employing thousands of employees in multiple cities including Suzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen. The company recently provided solutions for numerous significant projects such as the 3G networks of China Telecom and China Unicom, National Center for the Performing Arts, Beijing-to-Tianjin and Shijiazhuang-to-Taiyuan high speed railways, Beijing Subway and Shanghai Metro. In China, two additional customers who have recently implemented CommScope’s communication infrastructure solutions include Laiwu Iron and Steel Group and the Suzhou Industrial Park Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.

Laiwu is one of the top 10 steel companies in China and, to commemorate its 40th anniversary, it initiated two major projects. One of them is a centre of management excellence for the group while the new Laigang Research and Development centre will be used to undertake all product development. The two centres will be interconnected using SYSTIMAX® GigaSPEED® XL low smoke non-halogen (LSZH) CAT6 cable supporting more than 7,000 data points.

Meanwhile, the Suzhou Industrial Park Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. has built a new four-storey, 42,000 square meter data centre complex to meet its computing and communication needs. A combination of single and multi mode pre-terminated optical cable solution is used in the Suzhou Industrial Park. Additionally, more than 100 kilometers of LSZH GigaSPEED XL® cabling and OFNP plenum optical cable connect blade servers, storage area networks and VIP area via 1,800 copper ports and 5,800 optical ports within the data center.
