Verizon Wireless will soon launch its mobile video service, as reported by Fierce Wireless. This service, called “Go90,” will feature content from media partners such as AOL and Viacom.
Multichannel News published a recent study by IHS Technology, showing that Italians watch more linear TV than any other country in Europe. The British are at the top of the list for PVRs (personal video recorders) and streaming services.
A new OTT video player, Looke, has been introduced in Brazil, according to Rapid TV News. Looke will include subscription video-on-demand and pay-per-view options with an initial catalogue of 7,500 films, documentaries, series and music videos.
Lastly, Media Post reported that the number of IoT connected devices will rise over 285% in the next five years to 38.5 billion, according to data from Juniper Research. The study shows that the consumer segment (composed of the smart home, connected vehicles and digital healthcare), represents a high ARPU (average revenue per user) market segment.
