Two of Japan’s wireless operators have made the switch to HELIAX® 2.0 smoothwall cables, the feeder and jumper coaxial cable line solution offered by Andrew Solutions, the CommScope, Inc. division that is a global leader in wireless communications systems and products.

Andrew is providing its FXL smoothwall feeder cables and SFX smoothwall superflexible cable assemblies to the two Japanese operators in support of their 3G/4G networks. The company’s HELIAX 2.0 smoothwall cables deliver lower attenuation, higher crush strength, and reduced weight when compared to competitors’ copper cables. The lower and more stable raw material cost of aluminum translates into savings for any network, supporting all frequency bands with superb performance.
Andrew is also supplying cable accessories, base station antennas and RF splitters to one of the operators. Andrew bundled all the equipment into more easily and quickly deployable site kits based on the Japanese lunch box concept called “bento” boxes. “Of course the main dish of Andrew’s bento box is our broadband next generation HELIAX FXL and SFX smoothwall cable solutions,” said Kawada.
