Gary Irwin is a Senior Manager of R&D-Fiber Optic Apparatus in the Enterprise Division of CommScope.  He has more than 28 years of experience in the telecom/datacom field.   Mr. Irwin started his career with Bell Laboratories in 1986 and followed a corporate path from Bell Labs to AT&T to Lucent, Avaya and now CommScope.  He has been involved with R&D for much of his career but has also held management positions in factory final assembly, quality, process engineering, factory test set development, product realization and their systems, SAP-Product realization, and contract manufacturing engineering.   He has contributed as a design engineer and held management positions supporting products associated with Outside Plant, Central Office, Copper Apparatus, Fiber Apparatus, Physical Infrastructure, and most of the products associated with the Systimax, Uniprise, and CommScope brands.   Mr. Irwin holds a BSME and MSME from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
