Andrew Chooses Site for Relocation of Manufacturing Facility

November 1, 2005 ORLAND PARK, Ill.

Andrew Corporation, a global leader in communications systems and products, has chosen a site along the Joliet-New Lenox border in Will County to which it will relocate its existing Orland Park cable products manufacturing operations.

Andrew has signed a letter of intent for a 15-year lease agreement with Northern Builders Inc., which will construct, own, and manage the approximately 570,000 square foot build-to-suit office and manufacturing facility on 47 acres in the Cherry Hill Business Park, Joliet. The pending agreement, contingent on completion of due diligence and resolution of local and state credit and incentive opportunities, calls for construction completion by late 2006. The facility will house approximately 800 employees now based in Orland Park in cable products manufacturing and various staff functions. Relocation is expected in 2007.

The site selection follows Andrew's agreement, announced in August, to sell its long-time Orland Park property and relocate to two separate Chicago area facilities for its corporate headquarters and cable products manufacturing. Approximately 150 Orland Park employees will relocate in early 2006 to Andrew's new corporate headquarters facility in west suburban Westchester.

"Our new facility will be a world-class workplace and a showcase for operational excellence in manufacturing," said John DeSana, group president, Antenna and Cable Products, Andrew Corporation. "We look forward to creating a facility for which our employees and the community will be proud and which builds on Andrew's great 68 year history in the Chicago Southland."

Cherry Hill Business Park is a 1,200 acre development on the south side of Interstate 80 near the new Interstate 355 extension, and one mile from two four-way I-80 interchanges at Route 30 in New Lenox and Briggs Street in Joliet.
